LORE:  "Morus" meaning "delay", the tree does not bud until the last of the cold weather. Mulberry is the food of silkworms.  Around 2700 BC, Chinese farmers cultivated silkworms to create silk; a highly guarded secret for centuries. Mulberry trees were considered the "fu-sang" tree, the Tree of Life. 

The Romans introduced the mulberry to Britain and associated with Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom. 

RECIPE:  MULBERRY WINE

1 gallon ripe mulberries.     1 gallon boiling water.    3 lbs sugar.   Yeast                             Pour water over the mulberries. Cool to 20 C then add the yeast. Leave for 2 days then squeeze through muslin. Add sugar until dissolved.  Take out the fermented yeast. Transfer to a clean jar and leave until clear then rebottle. Add a clove and sugar lump if desired. 

MAGICKAL USES:    Mulberry is the tree of wisdom and logical thought. Drink mulberry wine for wisdom, psychic enhancement, strength and protection.

Make an infusion with tepid water, dip your index finger and draw a pentagram on your front and back doors to stop thieves. 

Use in sleep pillows for prophetic dreams, add to incense such as frankincense to invoke the Goddess.
